Boiler Modification (Coal to Biomass)
In order to reduce Carbon Emission, get the extra Biomass Fuel Subsidy, Client proposed to modify this boiler for biomass burning.
Before Modification
This boiler was one set of 75 tph, 3.82 MPa, 450 ℃ superheated steam, coal fire, CFB boiler. Superheated steam is supplied to Steam Turbine.
Modification Plan
The lower part of Membrane Water Wall, corroded Economizer and corroded Air Pre Heater are removed. Three grades of Economizer and two grades of Air Preheater are added. In order to keep enough heat surface, two more groups of superheater are added. Furthermore, the De-NOx flue connector is reserved between Economizer one and two.

After Modification
Air distributor, Ignitor, Burner and other related equipment are replaced by SLB patent Combined Grates. The electricity cost of Primary Air Fan Motor, Secondary Air Fan Motor and Induced Draft Fan Motor are 50% lower than before. Boiler capacity still keeps 75 tph, 3.82 MPa, 450 ℃.
The new main fuel is designed to Plants Straw, Corncob and other Combustible Biomass Waste. The biomass is transferred from fuel field to Fuel Silo by Belt Conveyor, and pushed into boiler furnace at the inlet of front wall.
